Just Add Ink #65 - Just add mateship / friendship for ANZAC DAY

So What is ANZAC Day all about?

ANZAC Day is a very special day in Australian and New Zealand history. ANZAC stands for the Australia New Zealand Army Corp. and it is significant because on the 25th of April 1915, both countries were involved in a difficult battle on the shores of Gallipoli.

On that fateful day our troops landed on a beach at dawn (now called ANZAC Cove) on the Turkish peninsula . They suffered a terrible defeat but our men fought with great bravery. The battle really highlighted the character traits of mateship and sacrifice. We talk about the Anzac Spirit which was born that day and use the term as a mark of great respect. Australians and New Zealanders commemorate this day with Dawn Services and Anzac Day Marches to remember those who fought and gave their lives for their country, not only in World War 1 but in all subsequent wars.

This weeks post is also to celebrate the love and friendship I have with my eldest daughter.  Together we spent Easter Thursday through to Anzac Day in hospital due to an awful infection in her face and eye.
She is well and truly on the mend now, but makes you realise how imporatant the people in your life really are.

Welcome to my blog!

First of all I would like to welcome you to my brand new blog.
Please take the time to have a look around and see what Stampin' Up! has to offer.

Just over a week ago I had the chance to finally launch my Stampin' Up! business.  I had 12 wonderful guests arrive who seemed to enjoy the night. They made 1 make and take project, viewed samples, had the chance to win 1 of 2 door prizes and were given a special little gift for booking a workshop along with another gift for attending.

Cakes, slices and sandwiches were available for supper - although I came home with full plates! (Everyone was too busy to eat!)

All in all, it was a great night and a great start to my Stampin' Up! workshop business.
