JAI 90 - Sketch Challenge

Having spent some time having lost my card making mojo, thought it was time to give another Just Add Ink challenge a go.

Firstly I need to apologise for the fuzziness of the pics, it's nearly that time of the year and a camera is on the pleeaasse list :) - and forgot to change the date when I changed the batteries whoops!!

I'm not completely happy with the outcome of this card, but will have another fiddle with it when a little more spare time comes my way.

What do you give a man that has everything??

A papercrafted tea caddy full of his favourite tea sachets!!
I was at a loss as to what to give my step dad for Dad's Day this year and found an awesome template for this tea caddy.  I used up a lot of retired SU! product in his favourite colours, did a little paper weaving on the top, changed the template a little so the top flips open for refilling and ended up with a cute little pressie :)

New Baby Boy - Owl Card

Making this card was an absolute challenge.  All of my supplies had been packed into storage due to renovations and I was asked to make an owl baby card as an order for a school mum.
I decided on an easel card, as they look a little more special and a layering I went lol.
This was the final result.  (Sorry, the camera was having issues again!!)

'Thank Yous' for my daughter's party guests

I found some very plain noodle boxes at the local discount shop and thought they would make very pretty thank you gifts for my daughter's party guests.

Stamp Sets:   Create a cupcake, Short and Sweet

Card Stock:   Crumb Cake, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise
Other:            Big Shot die cutting machine, Sizzlets Lots of Tags, Rhinestone,

Mother's Day Card Order

I was asked by the local newsagent to make up some Mother's Day cards and Gift Card holders for them.
The final results turned out to be bright and cheery.
These little handbags were made as gift card holders, but would also fit a couple of nice little choccies or some jewellery for a special lady in your life.  The music note bag and this gift card were also given to my sister with the pirate owl card in the previous post.

I made up a pile of these pretty Flower Pot cards in 3 different colours.  The 3rd design was made up of pastel shades and came up really well also.

The Side Step cards were made using off cuts from last year's catalogue.  I had never tried these before, but was happy with the way they also turned out.

This owl card wasn't really made as a Mother's Day card, but to replenish stock of these that the newsagency had sold out of.

A Birthday Card for My Sister

My sister is in to things that aren't so girly and also loves red, black and white together.  So thought I would transform this cute little owl into a pirate for her special day.
I was really happy with the result and I think she may have had a bit of a giggle at him too :)
All supplies are Stampin' Up! (except for the ribbon and brads)

DSP:            Jolly Holiday
Ink Pad:       Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Whisper White Craft

JAI #66 - Just Add A Flower {for Mum's Day}

Believe it or not, this weeks challenge was a real challenge for me.  I tend to add a flower or 2 to most of my creations, so this week I really wanted to try something different.
There are 3 firsts for me in this card, I've never made a gate fold card, never had a go at double embossing and decided to try to make a chrysanthemum - the 'symbolic' flower for Mother's Day.

Just Add Ink #65 - Just add mateship / friendship for ANZAC DAY

So What is ANZAC Day all about?

ANZAC Day is a very special day in Australian and New Zealand history. ANZAC stands for the Australia New Zealand Army Corp. and it is significant because on the 25th of April 1915, both countries were involved in a difficult battle on the shores of Gallipoli.

On that fateful day our troops landed on a beach at dawn (now called ANZAC Cove) on the Turkish peninsula . They suffered a terrible defeat but our men fought with great bravery. The battle really highlighted the character traits of mateship and sacrifice. We talk about the Anzac Spirit which was born that day and use the term as a mark of great respect. Australians and New Zealanders commemorate this day with Dawn Services and Anzac Day Marches to remember those who fought and gave their lives for their country, not only in World War 1 but in all subsequent wars.

This weeks post is also to celebrate the love and friendship I have with my eldest daughter.  Together we spent Easter Thursday through to Anzac Day in hospital due to an awful infection in her face and eye.
She is well and truly on the mend now, but makes you realise how imporatant the people in your life really are.
